| Independent Machine Company has developed another in a series of advanced computerized systems to decrease production downtime & splicing by traverse winding exceptionally long lengths of tension sensitive materials into large spools with footage long enough to circle the world!!.
This latest system includes (1) 2-Position Unwind that can accommodate maximum 36" diameter supply rolls slit to width. The computerized traverse can wind .5" - 4" wide material into 48" wide x 48" diameter x 1000lbs. spools on a cantilevered 6" airshaft.
The exclusive IMC SMARTWINDERS® software provides a virtually unlimited range of spool shape, size and winding patterns easily programmed through a touchscreen (the touchscreen provides operator control interface and data storage for up to 99 recipes). The spool traverses under the fixed position of the product input to minimize product skew and maintain precise programmable tension. The winding position is cantilevered and has a doffing feature for easy removal of the large spools.
Other features of the ruggedly constructed, modular system include: closed loop dancer feedback tension control, servo driven traverse, pneumatic actuated packing roll. Predetermining five level counter, dual drive system with a speed range to 1500 FPM.
