Wide Slitting & 16 Position Traverse Winding System For Spooling Hook & Loop Non-Woven |
![]() |
Independent Machine Co. of Fairfield, NJ has developed its latest system for slitting and traverse winding hook and loop and other non-woven material. The new 14" wide system features (16) computerized Smartwinders-2000 modular traverse winding cubes capable of different winding patterns through Smartwinders® software. The slitting station and separate 2-position unwind are modular and completely separate from the spooling station. Each of the 2-position unwinds support a maximum 48" diameter roll and has programmable tension controlled by ultra sonic diameter measurement. The slitter is the main speed reference for the system with a speed range to 1000 FPM and accommodates interchangeable assemblies for reciprocating razor, score and shear slitting. Each cantilevered Smartwinder-2000 position produces spools up to 20" wide x 25" OD on 3” & 6” cores, operates completely independent of all other positions and has a computerized, fully adjustable, servo driven traverse that will vary pitch, stroke length and end dwell and is capable of a wide range of spool sizes with level, taper, reverse taper and index winding patterns. Each position has precise adjustable rewind tension, speed controlled by diameter measurement, an independent closed loop follower drive and the exclusive IMC Dancer/Tension Controller with a 50:1 range. The operator Panelview Touchscreen has recipe storage for setting all winding parameters and operating adjustments. |
